More About Lypiatt House Hotel
is the smell of fresh flowers and the lure of the highly polished antique furniture in the drawing room. Immediately, you just know that you made the right choice. 'Classic charm' is an overused cliché, but in the case of Lypiatt House, it is thoroughly deserving. The House is built in typical Victorian style and is set impressively in its own grounds, with ample parking. Contemporary decor enhances the traditional features of the really stunning bedrooms, all with their own distinctive character. The curtains are made from traditional English silks and Baker's fabrics adorn the chairs. The en-suite bathrooms also have the 'wow' factor; Umbrian limestone, Italian chrome fittings and well considered lighting make these something special. Breakfast is also a bespoke affair, with a wide variety of fresh fruits, greek yoghurt presented on a bed of ice and home-made preserves. Make a point of asking for Sue's renowned free range poached eggs. A short walk from Lypiatt House are a myriad restaurants, cafes and brasseries, including the renowned restaurant, Le Champignon Sauvage, which enjoys a score of 8 in the Good Food Guide.
