Originally built in 1896 as a private house, this pretty hotel with superb views is just the right size for offering a wealth of amenities without being impersonally big - Grasmere House can cater for business meetings of up to... More About Grasmere House 145, but is also a welcoming venue for weddings, family holidays or even a weekend escape. All rooms are en suite and offer broadband and telephone connections and satellite television. Four rooms feature sumptuous four-poster beds; for families, there is a three-bedroom apartment with separate lounge, and some of the hotel's twin rooms cater for triple or quadruple family accommodation. When it comes to dining, Grasmere offers their lovely conservatory restaurant, the Bistro on the River. As with the entire hotel, the views are splendid, and offer an excellent accompaniment to the dining experience: the menu (which is often influenced by the best-quality offerings on the local market!) is a tasty mix of classic English cuisine and a world of eclectic global influences. Description: Offer: Christmas at Grasmere House Hotel is a truly special occasion. Situated in 1 ½ acres of rolling lawns and mature gardens‚ with views over the water meadows‚ the rivers Avon and Nadder and the magnificent spire of Salisbury Cathedral. Within easy walking distance of the Cathedral and the city centre, Grasmere is an idyllic location to celebrate the festive season.

Arrive on Christmas Eve for a Wiltshire cream tea followed by a Bucks Fizz reception and candlelit dinner accompanied by Salisbury "mummers." Mulled wine and mince pies are served after the Christmas Eve services nearby. On Christmas Day there is a full breakfast, 6 course luncheon, afternoon tea and cake, informal dinner buffet and traditional Christmas quiz. On Boxing Day a full breakfast, guided walking tour of Salisbury, Boxing Day luncheon, and Italian Gala dinner with table magic. Leave on the 27th after a full breakfast.

Rates & Conditions: 3 nights from £392.50 per person. A non-refundable deposit of £100 per person is required for all bookings. Prices quoted are per person and are based on a minimum of two adults sharing a standard double/twin.

NEW YEARS EVE AT GRASMERE

Description: Offer: Join Grasmere for a full English breakfast and a leisurely morning, followed by a 3 course luncheon. The afternoon is free for you to explore Wiltshire’s spectacular countryside or the world famous “Cathedral Close” in the city of Salisbury. Return to the hotel for afternoon tea with a selection of cake including that rich local speciality: Wiltshire Lardy Cake. Have a glass or two of Dale’s hot rum punch before the Gala 5 course Hot and Cold buffet. After dinner there will be dancing to Chris and his “AM Roadshow” Disco‚ this will be “interrupted” at midnight with a Champagne Toast, “Auld Lang Syne” and the BBC with Big Ben’s chimes to herald in the New Year. On New Year's Day there is a leisurely champagne breakfast.

Stay a little longer for the special rate of dinner‚ bed and breakfast rate of £69 per person per night. The additional nights include: accommodation‚ 3 course dinner‚ full English breakfast‚ service and VAT Valid from: 17th -23rd‚ 27th – 29th December and 1st – 4th January 2008.
